MC34060ADR2G are advanced switching controllers, widely applied in power control applications such as buck, boost, or PFM/PWM converters. It is capable of providing about 1A of output current, with very high accuracy. The device also provides up to four protection features, such as over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, current limiting protection, and thermal protection.

Applications

Working Principle

The device contains both a switching power supply and a linear regulator. The switch-mode power supply (SMPS) is a type of power supply that is designed to provide clean, regulated power to an electronic circuit or device. It typically uses inductors and capacitors to create a switching converter that can efficiently convert an alternating current (AC) input voltage to a direct current (DC) output voltage. The linear regulator is used to ensure that the output voltage remains within a predetermined range even when the load (drawing power) is changed.
