The MC74HCT138ANG is a 3-to-8 Line Decoder/Demultiplexer with a common active-low output enable. It is intended for use a medium-density application, providing a high level of integration for easy and economical implementation of logic systems. The device has two active-low (L level logic) inputs, A, B and the 8 outputs, O0 - O7. This makes it suitable for decoder/demultiplexer applications.The MC74HCT138ANG is designed to convert binary codes into an active LOW output as shown in the truth table. The OE input can be used to enable and disable the outputs, O0-O7. When OE is LOW the outputs will be active LOW and when OE is HIGH the outputs will be in the HIGH-Z state.The MC74HCT138ANG is mainly used in various mixed signal applications such as digital displays, games, printers, instrumentation control and industrial systems. It can be used to decode signals to select the input in analog-to-digital converters and also for coding and decoding of multiplexers.
