The MCIMX6Q4AVT10ACR is a corner-mounted dual ARM Cortex-A9-based processor designed for embedded applications. This processor is based on the 4-issue Vybrid architecture, delivering versatile features and robust performance while consuming low power. As a result, the MCIMX6Q4AVT10ACR processor can be used in a wide range of embedded applications such as industrial control systems, handheld devices, medical systems, automotives, and home entertainment.

The MCIMX6Q4AVT10ACR is based on the variety of ARM Cortex-A9 cores—both single- and dual-core versions. The dual-core version of this processor combines a 440MHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU with a 200MHz Cortex-A9 MCU for low-power operation and an ARM Neon media coprocessor for accelerated media processing. The ARM Cortex-A9 has a wide range of advanced features, including an integrated MMU and powerful cache system, as well as support for ARM Trust Zone, Jazelle, and virtual memory. The ARM Neon Media Coprocessor offers advanced media processing capabilities, including MPEG-4 and H.264 video encoding and decoding, fast JPEG encoding and decoding, and vector processing. The dual-core version of the MCIMX6Q4AVT10ACR also includes an integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) that supports 16 megapixel cameras.

The MCIMX6Q4AVT10ACR runs on the Vybrid application processor architecture, which features a combination of single-threaded and multi-threaded processors and power domains to deliver a robust performance with low energy consumption. The processor features two power domains: an Applications domain, which includes the Cortex-A9s and Neon Media Processor, and a Services domain, which includes the Cortex-A9 Microcontroller, Memories, and the Vybrid Video Engine. The multi-threaded Application Processor and Cortex-A9 MCU have separate voltage islands that can dynamically adjust their voltage and frequency, allowing for efficient power management.
