The low-cost construction utilizes a “bucket-filler” process with replacement diodes for SCRs. The module\'s modular format helps minimize electromagnetic noise generation, making it well-suited for high-speed, high-density switching applications.The MCK700-20IO1W\'s applications include motor controls, pump controls, spray controls, welding controls, lighting controls, and other high-voltage applications. In motor control applications, it is used as a gate driver to control the solid-state relay that switches the motor on and off. In other applications, the SCRs can be used in a network of low-power devices to control a higher-power device such as a transformer or a thyristor.The working principle of the MCK700-20IO1W is based on the forward biasing of the SCR structure. Anode and Cathode are the two main electrodes. The anode is the positive voltage terminal, and the cathode is the negative voltage terminal. A gate is an extra electrode connected to the base of the SCR. When the anode and cathode are forward biased, the current flows from anode to cathode. Gate current must flow through the gate terminal in order to turn on the SCR.Once the module is turned on, the current continues to flow even after the gate voltage is removed. To turn off the module, the voltage must be reversed, which causes the flow of current to stop. This reverse operation is known as anode-cathode commutation.
