The MCP2561FD-H/P is an interface between automotive systems and various types of digital communication networks. It is a high-performance, full-duplex transceiver that provides reliable communication over common automotive communications networks, such as CAN (Controller Area Network), LIN (Local Interconnect Network) and Ethernet. MCP2561FD-H/P is a part of Microchip\'s MCP2561 High-Speed Controllers/Transceivers family and it is designed to provide a flexible solution for automotive networking applications. The MCP2561FD-H/P operates in two functioning modes. In Sleep mode (SLPZ_A), the device consumes low power and its operating frequency is greatly reduced. The Sleep mode is suitable for when the bus traffic is low. The device also supports a Silent Listen mode (SLPF_A) in which it can receive frames, but does not transmit any frames.

The transceiver operates in the range from 0 to 500 KHz. It is compatible with both CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B standards. It also supports CANFD (CAN with Flexible Data Rate) frames, with frame lengths of up to 64 bytes. The MCP2561FD-H/P has additional features such as wake-up on bus activity, Auto Wake-Up on Buslines, transmit and receive data bus wake-up and wake-up on data. It also supports various protocol-specific features such as error-frame generation, error-frame suppression and bus-off recovery.

The transceiver implements various safety features such as error frame detection, voltage monitor, thermal monitor and brown-out detection. It also provides over-voltage protection. The device includes a LIN tranceiver that supports LIN 2.2 and SLAVE-mode LIN communications. It also supports the ISO-11898-2 standard for high-speed communications.

The MCP2561FD-H/P operates from a voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V and contains dual-channel CAN transceivers, a LIN slave and an ISO-11898-2 transceiver. It is designed for use in automotive applications, such as in-vehicle networks, automotive safety and powertrain control systems. It is available in a 48-lead, 6x6mm TQFP and 44-lead, 5x5mm TQFP packages.
