The MCP6052T-E/MNY from Microchip Technology is a low-cost, high-performance, precision operational amplifier (op-amp). It is designed for applications where high accuracy and low power consumption are required. The device operates over a wide supply voltage range, from a single +5 V supply up to +36 V, and provides the user with adjustable gains from 0.2 V/V to 3.0 V/V. The MCP6052T-E/MNY features an advanced input stage consisting of an N-channel and a P-channel input transistor. The unit comes in the Microchip 6-pin SC-Pak package, and provides high individual output drive current due to its low power consumption.

The unit’s operating principle is similar to other op-amps, as it consists of an amplifier, with constant differential-input voltage, and a feedback network. In the case of this op-amp, the amplifier is made up of two N-channel and two P-channel MOSFETs. The feedback network is connected to the inputs of the amplifier and is used to control the output voltage. The output voltage is related to the input voltage by a gain factor, which is stored in the feedback network. Depending on the application, the output voltage of the amplifier can be increased, decreased, or inverted.
