The MDDHT5540E device is an integrated monolithic Brush DC Motor Driver (BDCMD) suitable for medium power devices. It has high voltage and low voltage performance, supports both 5V and 12V logic, and is suitable for applications which require high step resolution and out power.The MDDHT5540E device is especially suitable for control of DC motors with power index of P ≥ 1W/cm2 and current index less than 100A/cm2, such as robotic arms, motorized cameras, video projectors, auto window shades, vending machines, turning tables, etc.This device includes a Brush DC Motor Controller (BDCMD) and a Phase Lock Loop (PLL). A frequency signal is supplied by the BDCMD to the PLL, which controls the motors speed by back electromotive force (EMF) sensing and synchronous current limitation. In addition, a control signal from an external frequency source can be used to communicate with the motor speed. This device can be used with any BDCMD, Hall device, or other motor control systems.The MDDHT5540E device is designed to aid in the development of Brush DC motor applications. It consists of a motor driver board, two switching circuits, a microcontroller, and a commonly used input/output (I/O) connector. The two switching circuit protect the motor from excessive voltage and current, while the microcontroller controls the speed, direction, and torque of the motor.The MDDHT5540E device also provides industrial-grade motor operation, including comprehensive support for acceleration, deceleration (braking), position control, and execute commands. It also supports various electronic motor options, such as feedback from a closed-loop motor, feedback from an open loop motor, gearbox motor control, etc.The motor driver board provides a complete set of features, such as fuzzy logic control, auto-tuning of the PID controller, support for various motor control options, and comprehensive motor status monitoring and performance tracking. The two switching circuits can consists of MOSFETs, power transistors, relay, etc., and a MOS-gated I/O port is provided for integrating external devices such as sensors and switches.In addition, the MDDHT5540E device is provided with a built-in protection circuit to protect the motor from overload during operation. It also has an advanced diagnostic system to detect faults and anomalies and to enable quick diagnosis and recovery of problems during operation.The motor driver board is integrated into the MDDHT5540E device, and it can be powered directly from an AC input or from one of two outputs configured to step down and convert the AC voltage. The board includes two switching circuits, microcontroller, input/output (I/O) connector and temperature sensor. The board further includes an onboard EEPROM memory which is controllable through the microcontroller and holds the data required for operation of the motor.To conclude, the MDDHT5540E device is a Brush DC motor driver board with high voltage and low voltage performance.
