The MDEV-915-250 RF Evaluation and Development Kit is a lightweight two-wire evaluation and development board that provides an integrated hardware and software platform for smaller radio frequency (RF) evaluation and development needs. It is specifically designed as a complete wireless radio frequency (RF) platform to enable us to quickly and easily evaluate and develop RF technologies.

The MDEV-915-250 features an interchangeable radio modules, options for extended range, low power consumption, and low SWaP (size, weight and power consumption) RF solutions. It supports a wide variety of RF technologies such as 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, and 60 GHz, and also has support for 2G/3G/4G cellular radios. Working Principle:

The MDEV-915-250 evaluation and development kit operates on two wires, namely power and ground. The radio module can be attached to and detached from the board. All the circuits required for radio module assembly are included. The circuit is composed of two major integrated circuits – RF transceiver and microcontroller. The transceiver ensures the communication with the radio module while the microcontroller embeds the protocol to control the RF interface.

The Radio Module interface is on a dedicated UART port. The UART port provides data bidirectionally, meaning that it can send and receive data. The microcontroller operates as a link between the computer and the radio module to transfer data. The microcontroller is also responsible for the processing of the data, sending it to the proper destination and controlling the radio module.

The board consists of a high performance ARM Cortex-M4F processor with speed up to 80MHz. It also supports a rich set of peripherals for low power consumption, storage, Ethernet, UART and SPI protocols. The Ethernet port provides fast data transfer speeds of up to 1Gbps.
