The MDM-9PSA-A172 connector is known as one of the most important members of the D-Sub connectors family. This connector is a hooded style sub-miniature, Metric, Circular connector series specificially designed for harsh environments. It meets the stringent requirements for operating in adverse conditions for applications in Medical, Automotive, Industrial, Metro, and Military Industries.

The MDM-9PSA-A172 sits between the MDM-xPSA-A series and the MDM-SPSA-A series, having the characteristics of both series. The major differences between the MDM-9PSA-A172 and the MDM-xPSA-A series is in two aspects. Firstly, the MDM-9PSA can take up more current than the MDM-xPSA series. Secondly, the MDM-9PSA-A172 has a higher contact retention force with lower insertion and extraction forces.

The MDM-9PSA-A172 connector can come with several insert arrangements varying between 2, 4, 6 and 9 pins. It has a maximum operating voltage of 250V rms and a 350V working insulation voltage. The connector is waterproof and resistant to vibrations, shock and compression.
