Common Mode Chokes
A common-mode choke is an electromagnetic component that is used to attenuate and suppress differential-mode noise while allowing the desired signal to pass unimpeded. Working Principle
The MGDU4-00008-P common mode choke consists of a ferrite core, which is constructed using multiple layers of fine iron powder. Additionally, the core also consists of a single winding in the center, which is termed as the common-mode winding.
The differential-mode windings acts as an inductor, working in both directions of the current flow. On the other hand, the common-mode winding works in one direction only and offers a high impedance path to noise, while providing a low impedance path to signals.
This combination of the differential-mode winding and the common-mode winding enables the MGDU4-00008-P to attenuate and suppress common-mode noise, while allowing the desired signal to pass unimpeded. Furthermore, the low impedance path created by the differential-mode winding helps to reduce the power losses during signal transfer.
