MGW32412 application field and working principle

MGW32412 is an electronic device used to convert a range of input DC voltage into a higher or lower DC voltage. This type of DC-to-DC converter is known as a “step-up” or “step-down” converter and is most often used in the applications where the input and output voltage preferences change. This type of converter can also provide isolation between the input and output circuit.The MGW32412 is a step-up converter that is designed to convert low input voltages up to 36 Volt DC into higher output voltage such as 60 volts. It is designed for applications such as test and measurement circuits, and also in industry automation. It is built on an integrated circuit and contains some microcontroller features such as Short-Circuit Protection and Open Loop Protection. The MGW32412 has a basic operation that utilizes an inductor to store the energy. An inductor is a type of electrical component that has an opposition to the change of current. As a result, with increasing current, a build-up of the magnetic field occurs within the inductor. The magnetic field produced by that current is stored as potential energy. The voltage conversion begins with the input voltage being applied to the inductor via a switch. The voltage of the switch is then raised above the input voltage which creates a current flow in the inductor. This current will cause a build-up of a magnetic field in the inductor. Once the switch is opened then the current will decrease and the inductor magnetic field will collapse. The collapsing of the magnetic field results in a current production in the opposite direction creating a higher voltage output. This process will repeat, again and again. The ratio of the output voltage to the input voltage is referred to as the duty cycle of the converter. The MGW32412 is designed to have 100 % efficiency and have very low ripple in the output.In conclusion, the MGW32412 converter can be utilized in many applications requiring voltage conversion. The step-up converter component offers a high current output at a higher voltage than the input making it suitable for high-power applications.
