MI2815-760 is a power supply often used in AC DC Desktop and Wall Adapters, and it is especially suitable for distributed power architectures and intermediate power systems.

The working principle of MI2815-760 can be divided into four parts:
1. AC/DC conversion
The first stage of operation of the device is the conversion of the input voltage, from AC to DC. This is done using a rectifier bridge in combination with large capacitors on the output side. The large capacitors act as a reservoir for energy and allow the power supply to deliver power efficiently to the load. In addition, the large capacitors also reduce the resulting voltage ripple on the output voltage.
2. DC/DC conversion
The second stage of the device is the conversion of the DC voltage into different DC voltage levels. This is done using a switching regulator, such as a buck converter, a boost converter, or a combination of both. The switching regulator is controlled by a feedback loop that compares the output voltage to a predetermined reference voltage. When the output voltage is too low, the regulator increases the switching frequency, increasing the voltage. When the output voltage is too high, the regulator reduces the switching frequency, reducing the voltage. In this way, the voltage can be precisely regulated.
3. Overvoltage protection
The third stage of operation of the device is the overvoltage protection. In order to protect the device from damage due to too high output voltages, it is equipped with an Over Voltage Protection circuit. This circuit monitors the output voltage and compares it to a predetermined level. If the output voltage goes above this level, the circuit will shut down the device.
4. Current limiting
The fourth stage of operation of the device is the current limiting. In order to protect the device from damage due to short circuits or crush current, it is equipped with a Current Limiting circuit. This circuit monitors the output current and compares it to a predetermined level. If the output current goes above this level, the circuit will shut down the device.
