The MIC94310-GYCS-EV Linear Voltage Regulator (LVR) evaluation board is a fully self-contained evaluation platform to enable quick evaluation and testing of the MIC90331 LVR family of voltage regulators from Microchip. Powered by an external source, the evaluation board facilitates evaluation of linear voltage regulators, providing a test platform that simplifies the evaluation process.

The evaluation board is specifically designed for the MIC90331 and is rated to operate at up to 5 versions (V) of output voltage, with a maximum output current of 10 Amps. The MIC90331 is a versatile low voltage regulator with transient voltage protection and programmable voltage settings. It is suitable for use in applications in which wide input ranges are needed and where transient voltage protection is required.

The MIC90331 has two operating modes, standard linear and switching. In linear mode, the voltage regulator works by regulating the input voltage to the predetermined output voltage. The switching mode works by using a feedback circuit which monitors the output voltage and compares it with a predetermined value.
