MIKROE-1942 Application Field and Working Principle

The MIKROE-1942 is an expansion board, daughter card for evaluation boards. It offers a platform to evaluate, and develop applications with STM32L4 Series microcontrollers. It is suitable for low power, low cost IoT applications, device interconnectivity functions, as well as peripheral evaluation.

The MIKROE-1942 board is equipped with two STM32L4 series microcontrollers which are pin compatible with the STM32L4 family of microcontrollers. Specifically, the board includes two STM32L4+ series 32-bit MCUs with:

• LQFP-64 packages
• 208KB of Flash memory
• 64KB of SRAM
• 77 GPIO pins
• 1 x USB

The board also features a wide variety of peripherals, including:

• GUI Accelerator
• 38-pin board-to-board connector
• Two SD card interfaces
• Two CAN controllers
• Four UARTs
• Two I2C interfaces
• Six SPI interfaces

Working Principle

The MIKROE-1942 board is powered by two STM32L4+ microcontrollers which offer a range of features, including low power consumption, excellent GPIO support, reliable communication interfaces and high performance processors. The board also includes a variety of onboard peripheral devices which allow developers to evaluate and develop applications with various functions.

The board connects to an external power supply and the onboard peripherals are powered through the STM32L4+ microcontrollers. The MCUs are programmed and debugged through the USB interface. The board can also be connected to other boards, such as Arduino shields and Raspberry Pi through the 36-pin board-to-board connectors.
