MIL4922-14L’s construction is made of copper wire, and its magnetic core is made of MnZn ferrite, which is a special material allowing high saturation flux-density. MIL4922-14L can be operated smoothly within its recommended temperature range because of its good self-heating characteristics.

MIL4922-14L’s working principle is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When an alternating current passes through the inductor, it creates a magnetic field of changing intensity around the inductor. Faraday demonstrated that this changing magnetic field produces an induced electromotive force (EMF) which opposes the change in current. The magnitude of the inductance and the induced EMF is inversely proportional to the rate of change of the current flowing through the inductor. Therefore, the inductor stores energy with the pressure created by the induced EMF and the inductor’s magnetic field.
