MK1574-01BSILFTR is a clock generator that is incorporated of Frequency Synthesizers and Phase Locked Loops (PLL). The monolithic chip provides total flexibility of operating frequency, low jitter and low noise. This chip is intended to be used in digital equipment requiring accurately generated clock or data clock. It is suitable for a wide range of different applications.The working principle of the chip comprises of the following steps. The external reference clock fed on to the Input Pin of the chip initiates the start of the working procedure of the chip. Initially it goes through the phase locked loop (PLL) section which is connected to a charge pump circuit. The charge pump circuit then does the phase comparison with both the external reference clock provided by a separate oscillator and the actual internal clock coming from the voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) . Thus the loop is closed and the frequency synthesizer present in the chip takes its turn. The dividing ratio of the frequency synthesizer is set according to different frequencies which allows the chip to ensure output clock signals at different external frequencies. The internal clock generated by the voltage controlled oscillator is then adjusted with the help of the feedback loop thereby inducing the output signal of the signal.The MK1574-01BSILFTR chip is mainly used in applications like networking systems, telecommunications, broadband networking, broadcast video, video and audio signal processing, digital storage systems, and multimedia projection systems.
