### Logic - Gates and InvertersThe MM74HC32N is part of a functional family of integrated circuit (IC) devices known as Quad 2-Input Positive OR Gates. These devices are built with Motorola MOSTechnology High-Speed CMOS logic which provides for significantly increased system performance and product reliability. This family of ICs conforms to the JEDEC Standard 16-Lead Small Outline Integrated (SOIC), 16-Lead Plastic Dual-In-Line Package (PDIP), and 14-Lead Small Outline Package (SOP). The MM74HC32N is a level-shifter logic device with two high-speed independent gates and one two-input OR gate.Inputs of the MM74HC32N gates include an active high enable A/C, an active low enable B/D, and two inputs A and B. Outputs include an active low output C and an active low output D. If a user requires a logic OR gate with active high outputs, they must use an inverter circuit to invert the output. The active low output levels of the MM74HC32N OR gate allow for easy buffering, which allows for increased bus speed, high noise immunity and low output leakage.The MM74HC32N has many applications since it is capable of providing an effective environment for logic level shifting, direct drive from integrated groups, logic level translation from TTL to MOS or vice versa. Some of these applications include active translation from standard logic to the various logic families, low voltage applications, logic level shifting and direct drive from logic gates. The main advantage of using the MM74HC32N is its increased speed and effectiveness. This is due to its low input capacitance and small output impedance. Also, the device has a speed that is faster than any of the standard ones. Its fast switching speed allows it to respond to a single input within nanoseconds, enabling high speed data transfer.
