Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital OutputTemperature sensing and regulation are integral parts of many industrial and domestic applications. In a diverse range of temperatures, from cryogenic temperatures to high heat, an accurate measurement of temperature is necessary to ensure the best performance of equipment. Temperature sensors are used in a variety of applications to provide a reliable and accurate measure of the temperature being experienced. The MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 is a versatile temperature sensor capable of measuring an extensive range of temperatures in low voltage digital and analog outputs.The MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 is a digital and analog output temperature sensor capable of sensing in a range of -55°C to +150°C (-67°F to +302°F). The sensor’s accuracy depends on the accuracy of the measurement technique used. A 14-bit ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) allows the sensor to output highly accurate results, with a typical resolution of 0.1°C (0.18°F). The thermistor is calibrated and is embedded into the sensor’s housing, meaning the sensor cannot be used in an open environment.The MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 is typically used in industrial or laboratory applications requiring temperature sensing and control. In many instances, the sensor is used as part of a system-level application, requiring accurate and reliable data for emergency shutdown in case of overheating or other related problems. Such uses may include automation processes, industrial equipment, robotics, HVAC systems, automotive applications, and analytical instruments.This temperature sensor operates using a NTC (Negative Temperature Co-efficient) thermistor, which is approximately 10kΩ at 25°C. This characteristic permits a conversion of resistance to temperature; as the temperature increases, the resistance of the thermistor decreases. This thermistor operates in the range of 9.8kΩ (at -55°C) and 2.4kΩ (at +150°C). The thermistor is then connected to a Wheatstone bridge circuit in order to calculate the resistance and convert to temperature.The analog and digital output of the MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 allow it to be connected to a wide range of external systems and applications such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), computer systems, display and analysis systems, and process control systems. The digital output is available in two configurations depending on the particular requirements: the I2C bus and the parallel interface. The I2C bus allows connection to digital signal processors, while the parallel interface allows the user to select points from the sensor’s temperature range and convert them into a three-level logic level output.The MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 is also capable of providing a digital output via an on/off signal. This output is intended to shut down devices or systems in the event that the temperature exceeds preset limits. With an optical isolation of 500 VAC, the sensor can be effectively used to control motor starters and other similar electrical circuits.The MNS2-9-IN-TS-HT-L03 offers a high level of precision and reliability, ideal for many industrial and laboratory applications.
