MOD5272-100IR application field and working principle
The MOD5272-100IR is a microcontroller module based on ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit microcontroller. It is developed for electric power measurement and control for smart grid monitoring applications. It provides extended digital and analog interfaces for interface communication, sensor and controlling signals. The application of MOD5272-100IR covers electric power; devices and systems remote monitoring and control, data collection and analysis, and electric power systems automation and devices operation optimization. It also permits integration of renewable energy devices into the system for efficient operation and monitoring. Working principle
The MOD5272-100IR hardware consists of ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit microcontroller, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, CAN Bus, USB and SD Card interfaces, 8-bit 125KHz RF transmission circuit and 2-ch 16-bit ADC. It supports multiple programming languages such as ARM, C and Assembler. The embedded working memory in the module consists of 256kB Flash with 32kB System RAM for programming applications.
The MOD5272-100IR has a 5W power consumption and low standby power that enables the module to perform reliable power measurement and control functions. In addition, the embedded 10/100M Ethernet provides a secure communication channel in the field to allow communication between different devices in the same network.
The module has advanced protection function with protection of over/under voltage and over current protections. Additionally, it provides 8-bit 125KHz RF transmission to provide data transmission in the field by relaying the local data to the control centre for further analysis.
The embedded CAN Bus interface enables reliable serial data bus structure for communication between distributed control systems and devices. The CAN Bus interface also allows integration of distributed control systems for efficient operation in the smart grid monitoring system.
