PMIC - LED Drivers Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are a major form of lighting technology and are rapidly being adopted for many applications such as general lighting, automotive lighting, among others. The MP3356DG-LF-P is a complete LED current regulator controller with a high-accuracy current source that offers flexibility, excellent efficiency and accuracy, and low-total harmonic distortion (THD).The MP3356DG-LF-P is an LED driver with a wide range of programmable features and functions. It is a constant-current source with a multiple loop architecture that provides independent LED current setting and LED current monitoring, enabling variable LED current up to 1A and supports a wide range of LED types. It includes an adjustable, high-voltage, current transfer ratio (CTR) that compensates for process variations and LED temperature variations. This allows for accurate current sensing and regulation for consistent LED performance. The integrated high precision current source and loop controller provide ripple rejection up to -50dB. The internal over-voltage protection (OVP) and thermal foldback (TFB) functions are designed to maximize system safety. The device also supports several system and application requirements using other functions such as PWM dimming and low-power mode.The MP3356DG-LF-P is designed for maximum efficiency by utilizing a range of power control techniques. The peak current limit reduces inrush current and the auto-startup circuit and thermal loop control optimize the system\'s heat while preserving LED brightness. Peak current mode control and hysteretic current error amplifier (CEA) set the current level accurately with a gap that minimizes audible noise. The adaptive on time control loop (ATO) adjusts both the peak and valley currents of the LED to ensure constant light output and a programmable fixed off time (FTO) feature minimizes LED dimming noise. The constant frequency, peak current control limits EMI by ensuring harmonic current levels and dynamic burst current mode (BCM) and pulse skip frequency modulation (PSFM) reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) to ≤20%.The MP3356DG-LF-P provides low-voltage remote control, and enables circuit flexibility through integration of multiple features. The primary features are remote current control, adjustable dimming sensitivity, high-performance error amplifier and integrated comparator which makes the device ideal for applications where reliability and control are essential, such as automotive LEDs, display and indicator applications, among others. With its wide input voltage range (6V to 42V), it can support applications of up to 100W peak power at 84V.The MP3356DG-LF-P\'s efficient, regulated current source and high-accuracy current regulation make it a perfect choice for LED lighting or other applications that require a complex, low-distortion current regulation loop. Its wide input voltage range, low on-resistance power switch, over-voltage protection and thermal foldback are designed to ensure safety and longevity.
