The MP5075LGTF-Z is a multi-channel power distribution switch, load driver and linear regulator, designed specifically to support single or multiple power configurable designs in mobile devices. It is housed in a compact 9-by-9mm QFN-28 package, optimizing overall designs by directly supporting 3V to 5.5V input voltage. The MP5075LGTF-Z is a low power analog front end power IC for mobile application in a 28-bump very small outline integrated circuit (VSOP) package which integrates a 3A (max) power distribution switch and 4 to 6A (max) load driver channels. It allows configurable solution for tight space constraint designs, meeting the requirements of up to 4 power distribution switch and load driver outputs.

The MP5075LGTF-Z features include adjustable output voltage (2.2V to 5.5V), low RDSONs, fast turn-on turn-off times, and direct power supply to the power distribution switch, allowing ultra-low power mode operation for standby applications. It also provides full device monitoring with over voltage and over current protection capability. High resolution overvoltage protection and overcurrent shutdown allows seamless power distribution from the power source.

The MP5075LGTF-Z power distribution switch is designed to provide ultra-low power operation with good current sense resolution performance (0.2A typ). It is capable of very low resistance (<6.5 mΩ typ) to ensure fast turn-on and turn-off. The MP5075LGTF-Z can support the majority of mobile device I/O power management requirements with adjustable output voltage and maximum load current of 3A.

The power distribution switch of the MP5075LGTF-Z is connected directly to the power supply. It is controlled by external control signals Sx. The external control signals will activate the power switch output according to the external control signals. When the external control signal is low, the power switch output will disconnect, and the supply voltage will be cut off to the peripherals. When the external control signal is high, the power switch output will be switched on, and the supply voltage will be connected to the peripherals. With an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, the MP5075LGTF-Z power distribution switch can support up to eight power distribution channels, allowing direct output connections of up to four outputs with one output for each one of the four outputs.

The load driver of the MP5075LGTF-Z is designed to control DC current in a wide range of applications. It is capable of controlling up to 4-6A of current, depending on the load conditions. It is designed with a low resistance on-resistor that ensures fast turn-on response, accurate current-sense resolution, and fast turn-on and off times. The load driver is actuated by an external control signal. When the external control signal is low, the load driver output will be turned off and the connected load will be disconnected from the power source. When the external control signal is high, the load driver output will be tuned on and the connected load will be connected to the power source.

The integrated low dropout (LDO) regulator of the MP5075LGTF-Z provides output voltage accuracy, offering a stable and adjustable output voltage range of 2.2V to 5.5V. The adjustable output voltage is controlled via external pins, Sx. The output current of the LDO is adjustable from 0A to 2A, depending on the external voltage. The integrated LDO is capable of providing very low-voltage accuracy, and high- efficiency operation to support the maximum current output.

In general, the MP5075LGTF-Z is an advanced, high-performance PMIC for multi-cell mobile devices. Its low quiescent current, low power shutdown, fast switching and excellent efficiency support multiple outputs from a single integrated device, maximizing board-space utilization.
