The displacement stage converts the input voltage into a current using a proportional relationship. This stage also contains a reference voltage and an amplifier, allowing the current to be amplified and controlled precisely. This stage also contains an on/off switch, allowing the current to be quickly disconnected and reconnected when the voltage changes.

Finally, the displacement amplification stage amplifies and couples the displacement current to the output, providing a higher current at the output than would normally be available without the amplifier. This stage contains a differential amplifier and a power MOSFET switch, simplifying the design and allowing rapid transition between operating modes. It also provides over-temperature protection and a short-circuit protection function.
