Working Principle

The MS4800S-30-1640-15X-15R-RM2AP is an infra-red transmission system composed of an emitter and receiver light curtain. The emitter creates an invisible infra-red light curtain across an opening/closeable gap occupied by the machine body. The receiver detects any interruption of the light curtain and triggers the respective safety function (e.g. warning signal, stop of the machine, shut-down of the machine).The light curtain consists of an emitter which creates a strong infra-red light beam and a receiver that is designed to detect the reflected beam from the emitter. The receiver is sensitive only to the light beam transmitted by its own emitter, making the system virtually immune from interference from external source. When the receiver detects a interruption of the light beam it will trigger the safety function.The MS4800S-30-1640-15X-15R-RM2AP is also equipped with two integrated detachable pluggable 3m (9-ft) cables, one for the emitter and one for the receiver.
