Application Field

The MSF4800S laser light curtain is certified according to the requirements of IEC60825-1 / EN60825-1:2007 and is suitable for protection of personnel up to PLd, Cat 4 (EN 98, EN ISO 13849-1) and SIL3 (EN 61508). The 4800S is designed to be used in industrial environments where protection from moving hazards is required.The 4800S is suitable for a wide variety of applications in hazardous and explosive atmosphere, such as chemical plants, refineries, manufacturing plants, power stations and offshore installations. Working Principle

The MSF4800S laser light curtain is a two-way safety device consisting of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter emits a beam of laser light which is then received by the receiver mounted at the other side of the area to be protected. If the beam is blocked by an object, person or obstacle, the receiver will detect the interruption and will in turn send a signal to the controller which will then, depending on the application, initiate the necessary safety actions.The safety action taken depends on the application and the overall safety system in use.
