MSL3168GU-R is a LED driver integrated with a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) in one package. It is designed for buck-boost LED drivers for illumination control with OLEDs. This LED driver features high efficiency, wide input voltage range, low-current consumption and high-precision LED current control.

MSL3168GU-R has two working modes. The first mode is pulse width modulation (PWM) and the other is analog voltage (AV) control. In PWM mode, the LED is adjusted according to the input PWM signal, and the intensity of the LED can be adjusted proportionally to the duty cycle of the PWM signal. In AV control, the current of the LED adjusts directly according to the input analog voltage. The intensity of the LED can be controlled by varying the analog voltage.

MSL3168GU-R also features a wide input voltage range, allowing it to be used in any number of applications. It has an input voltage range of 2.6V to 36V (60V transient protection) and a maximum current of 3A, making it compatible with a wide range of LED voltages and amperages. Additionally, it has adjustable current limits and programmable turn-on/turn-off delays, allowing for further customizable control.

MSL3168GU-R has a built-in over temperature protection (OTP) to prevent it from overheating under abnormal environmental conditions. It also features soft start and current foldback protection, both designed to reduce inrush current and protect the LEDs from excessive current. Additionally, it has over voltage protection (OVP) to provide over voltage protection for the LEDs. Finally, it has a reverse voltage protection (RVP) to ensure the LED driver is used properly.
