Working Principle
The MTCDP-EV3-GP-N16-DK-1.0 Evaluation and Development kit Board consists of an RF transceiver operating at 4.9 GHz to 5.875 GHz. It is based on IEEE802.11b/g/n standard and supports a link rate up to 135 Mbps. The Evaluation and Development kit board is composed of two main part, one is based on PHY layer hardware, and the other is based on MAC layer Firmware.
The RF transceiver comprises of the analog and digital parts. The DSP baseband part consists of the physical and medium access control (MAC) layers and the RF part comprises of the PA and the antenna. The physical layer is responsible for the coding and modulation of bits while the MAC layer is responsible for sending the data frames.
The Evaluation and Development kit board is designed to provide maximum output power and efficient power consumption. The board supports high gain antenna, which provides excellent RF performance, with high receiver sensitivity and low transmitter error rate. The low power consumption of the Evaluation and Development kit board is important for battery operated applications.
The Evaluation and Development kit board allows designers to quickly prototype with a single board. It comes with a comprehensive suite of applications such as SIP, FTP, and GPRS to quickly prototype designs. In addition, the Evaluation and Development kit board has in-built safety features such as ESD protection, and watchdog timer.
The Evaluation and Development kit board is designed with an on-board BOM, including an 8-bit STM32 microcontroller, and both flash and SRAM memory. It can be easily interfaced with other modules such as ZigBee modules, Bluetooth modules, WIFI module, or ZigBee Pro and Pro Plus modules to connect to a wireless network.
