MX8683R Application Field and Working Principle

The MX8683R magnetic sensor IC is a linear, compass field integrated circuit. It is designed to detect and measure the direction and intensity of the earth’s magnetic field, as well as the magnetic fields of other magnetic objects. The MX8683R is a two-dimensional Hall effect integrated circuit. It contains two independent Hall effect ICs, each with a two-wire interface for signal output. It is ideal for applications where two dimensional coordinates data is required. The IC operates in ambient temperatures range from -40°C to + 85°C and works on supply voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V.

The fundamental principle on which the MX8683R operates is the Hall Effect. It relies on the principles of a Hall Probe, which was originally invented by physicist Edwin Hall in 1879. The Hall effect is based on the idea that when a current-carrying conductor (such as a wire) is placed in a magnetic field, a voltage is generated perpendicular to the current and the magnetic field.
