This diode is designed to protect the voltage circuit from over-voltage and/or over-current events and is capable of dissipating up to 30 Kilowatts of peak power.The MXPLAD30KP17CAE3 utilizes a special coplanar structure that enables it to effectively suppress high-voltage surges and/or current transients in a short time frame. This diode is designed to be used in various applications such as TVS, protection devices, computer and communication equipment, mobile devices, and many other consumer electronics. This device can also be used in industrial applications, such as high-voltage welding equipment, automotive applications, and robotics.The design of the MXPLAD30KP17CAE3 is based on the Avalanche Breakdown Structure (ABD) which provides superior protection against over-voltage and over-current transients. This structure makes use of an avalanche transistor structure to effectively suppress transients and provide a reliable load protection. The ABD structure also ensures excellent ESD protection and superior clamping performance.The MXPLAD30KP17CAE3 also includes an integrated MOSFET that provides an additional level of protection against current transients. The MOSFET is designed to provide a low-resistance path for current flow and to prevent voltage spikes. This device is also capable of operating at a wide temperature range, from -55°C to +125°C.The working principle of the MXPLAD30KP17CAE3 is quite simple.
