TVS - Diodes - MXSMCGLCE80A Application Field and Working Principle
The MXSMCGLCE80A is a transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect semiconductor devices, such as microprocessors, memories and gate arrays, against damage from voltage transients. The diode is part of a diode/capacitor network configuration, whichprotects against both voltage and current overshoots, as well as reverse transients. The diode is also designed to limit device failure from electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. The diode has a peak clamping voltage of 60V and a breakdown voltage of 40V.The MXSMCGLCE80A is a bidirectional, unidirectional and dual diode. The diode can be used in AC or DC circuits to protect against transient voltage and current surge events. The diode can be used to supplement other ESD protection devices such as MOVs. The diode is designed to handle up to 1.5A of reverse current without affecting its forward voltage.
