It is compatible with many different motion control and power control applications, such as automotive, aerospace, home automation, security systems, industrial robotics, and more.The NBSG16MMNEVB evaluation board supports a wide range of development and debugging tools, including the DebugWire as well as advanced software development tools. Its integrated software stack, the Kinetis® 4 Flex 2.x, provides the user with a comprehensive solution that accelerates the development of their power and motion control applications.The evaluation board’s application field and working principle can be broken down into two core areas: The onboard motor control subsystem, and the onboard power control subsystem.The onboard motor control subsystem works by using the integrated motion control processor, the LNAG/AMP muxer controller, and the Kinetis® 4 Flex 2.x software stack to control brushless DC (BLDC) and permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) motors. The motion control processor utilizes closed-loop vector control algorithm for precise control over velocity, torque, and position of the motors in the system.The onboard power control subsystem is designed to control large systems with power requirements of up to 48V. It is based on the Kinetis® MCU and uses a pre-configured power control network and analog power control components, such as MOSFETs, to deliver high-precision power control. This system is also capable of DC-DC conversion, and can provide both buck and boost operations, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.One of the benefits of the NBSG16MMNEVB evaluation board is its flexibility: it is possible to re-program the board based on specific motor control and power control requirements for individual applications.
