Temperature Sensors - NTC Thermistors

Temperature sensing devices are devices that measure temperature. These devices are used in applications such as heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, energy management, motor control, chemical processing, data logging, instrumentation, and aerospace. Of the various temperature sensing devices, such as thermocouples, RTD, thermistor, infrared pyrometers, and thermoelectric devices, NTC thermistors are the most popular for applications requiring a low price point.

An NTC thermistor is a temperature sensitive resistor that changes resistance in proportion to a change in temperature. The NTC thermistor is most popular due to its small size, low cost, accurate temperature sensing, and quick response. There are five basic parameters used to describe thermistors: resistance at room temperature, temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR), resistance tolerance, B constant, and power rating.

NCP03 WF104J05RL is a NTC thermistor from Isabellenhütte. It is a 2-pin, surface mount device with excellent stability of parameters at epoxy encapsulation.
