The NCP1031POEEVB is an Evaluation and Demonstration Board and Kit from Texas Instruments. This kit provides a complete environment for designs based on NCP1031. It has a parallel output regulator that can deliver up to 1 W of continuous power. It also has a serial output regulator that can provide up to 500 mA of continuous current. Both regulators have a very low total harmonic distortion (THD) and are ideal for applications such as computing and networking equipment, LED lighting, industrial systems, and power supplies. This kit comes with all components necessary to evaluate and demonstrate the performance of the NCP1031, as well as a comprehensive GUI software package for easy system integration and configuration.
The NCP1031 is a fully integrated high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC/DC converter. It can operate over an input voltage range of 3.5 V to 16 V and comes with two independent power-output regulators that support a wide range of output voltages. The high efficiency of the NCP1031 makes it suitable for wide range of applications, such as computing and networking equipment, LED lighting, and industrial systems. The NCP1031 is also capable of operating at a maximum output current of 500 mA, enabling it to power higher current loads.
The NCP1031POEEVB evaluation board is designed to use several key components that support the step-down converter. It includes a buck inductor, high-side MOSFETs, low-side MOSFETs, low-side driver, bootstrap diode, charging capacitors, and a dock connector. The buck inductor and the DC/DC converter work together to step down the input voltage, providing the desired output voltage. The high-side and low-side MOSFETs, along with the low-side driver, provide a low-RDS(on) solution with fast switching and minimal losses.
