The NCP1200AD60R2 is an advanced offline switcher series from ON Semiconductor. With a maximum input voltage of 84V and a maximum output voltage of 60V, the NCP1200AD60R2 is designed for a variety of applications, such as Battery Chargers, Automotive Chargers, USB Power Supplies, Industrial Power Supplies, and Medical equipment applications.The NCP1200AD60R2 is an integrated, low-side-MOSFET, AC-DC offline switcher. It includes features such as short-circuit protection, over temperature protection, over voltage protection, and current limiting. The device is equipped with a low-loss control loop that maintains a regulated output voltage with proper light load regulation and minimum standby power consumption. The NCP1200AD60R2 is capable of powering a variety of consumer, industrial, and medical applications, including: computer accessories, consumer electronics, lighting, battery charging, AC adapters, appliances, industrial automation, and medical equipment. The NCP1200AD60R2 works by taking alternating current and rectifying it to direct current, which can then be used to power electrical devices. The AC-DC converter uses a diode bridge rectifier, built into the NCP1200AD60R2, to convert the AC into DC. The device also includes an integrated MOSFET that eliminates the need for an external control device. The integrated MOSFET can be operated in either a continuous-conduction mode or a discontinuous-conduction mode. The NCP1200AD60R2 can operate in three modes: Mode 1, Mode 2, and Mode 3. In Mode 1, the switcher is disabled while no line voltage is present at the input. In Mode 2, the switcher is enabled at the line voltage resulting in continuous conduction. In Mode 3, the switcher is enabled but the duty cycle is reduced at the line voltage resulting in discontinuous conduction. The NCP1200AD60R2 series also offers an optimized power stage solution for low-power offline power applications. The device can be used in a single-stage flyback or dual-stage SEPIC topology with a fixed frequency of 200KHz and a maximum efficiency of up to 90%. Finally, the NCP1200AD60R2 series can operate at a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for high temperature applications. The device also has an Integrated Soft-Start circuitry which helps prevent output voltage overshoot on start up. The NCP1200AD60R2 is a highly efficient device, which is capable of powering a variety of applications, such as Battery Chargers, Automotive Chargers, USB Power Supplies, Industrial Power Supplies, and Medical Equipment applications. The device is optimized for low power applications and offers great features such as short-circuit protection, over temperature protection, over voltage protection, current limiting, and an integrated MOSFET.
