The NCP1203GEVB is an evaluation board designed to support the NCP1203G off-line SMPS controller and is also suitable for a wide range of applications in the evaluation of DC/DC or AC/DC (off-line) switch mode power supplies. The device offers a complete solution for DC/DC and AC/DC off-line switch mode power supplies, with various protection features and different circuit configurations. The board is designed to provide a fully functional, ready-to-use platform for basic power supply designs, enabling result-oriented product evaluation and development.The NCP1203GEVB is designed around a fixed-frequency, peak current mode, half-bridge, off-line power supply controller. With the help of the advanced independently adjustable high- and low-side drivers, the device can efficiently control DC-to-DC as well as AC-to-DC SMPS. The PWM controller also supports a number of protection functions to ensure safe operation, including cycle-by-cycle current limit, short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, overload protection, and more.The NCP1203GEVB evaluation board provides a practical platform to quickly evaluate the features of the NCP1203G controller and its ability to efficiently manage energy and thermal flow in SMPS circuits. Several user-friendly features allow the device to be quickly evaluated, including onboard modes for both DC-to-DC and AC-to-DC switch mode operations, adjustable current limit, adjustable reference voltage, and adjustable over-temperature protection. The board also allows the user to evaluate different output power levels, thanks to a wide range of output voltage and output current configurations.The evaluation board is built with the components necessary to start basic application testing with the NCP1203G in a short period of time. An associated PC software allows the user to log and monitor different parameters of the system operation in real-time and gives access to all the different tuning parameters of the controller. The small form factor, ready-to-use gate driver ICs, and a wide range of DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) applications make the NCP1203GEVB one of the industry’s most flexible evaluation boards for off-line power supply designs. The NCP1203GEVB board provides a safe, reliable, and accurate way to evaluate the features of the NCP1203G off-line SMPS controller.
