The NCP1239B65WGEVB is an Evaluation Board - DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS (switched-mode power supply). This advanced product has a wide variety of applications and is designed to be highly efficient. It is suitable for any application that requires a low-cost, high-efficiency, and reliable power conversion solution from a single-phase, universal input AC voltage range to a regulated voltage from 2.5V to 65V and a maximum output power of 225 Watts.

The NCP1239B65WGEVB is a reliable and cost-effective solution for applications such as industrial automation, lighting, communication systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and telecom systems. The board is designed to meet the most demanding requirements for efficiency and thermal management.

The main components of the NCP1239B65WGEVB are an integrated high-voltage gate driver IC (UCC28659), a poly-phase synchronous rectifier controller (NCP3000) and an active-clamp synchronous rectifier controller (NCP1200). The UCC28659 gate driver IC provides high voltage buffer and an On/Off signal for the NCP3000 and NCP1200 controllers. The NCP3000 and NCP1200 controllers generate the gate signals to the power MOSFETs to control the power transistors.

The NCP1239B65WGEVB is designed with a special power topology which is a combination of phase-shifted full-bridge PWM controllers with an active-clamp configuration. The control of the power MOSFETs and the waveforms generated by the controllers allows the power MOSFETs to be driven to their maximum efficiency. The phase-shifted full-bridge controller is used to reduce switching losses and to reduce ripple in the output voltage. The active-clamp controller ensures a lower operating frequency and a higher conversion efficiency.
