The NCP1399ADPGEVB is one of the evaluation boards in the DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS category. It is a common open loop PFC flyback converter with a wide input voltage range from 85 to 265Vac, adjustable output voltage from 3.5 to 5.5Vdc and high efficiency up to 93%. It enables an optimal thermal management for high reliability operation.

The NCP1399ADPGEVB is built based on the NCP1399A controller device featuring Green PFC™ and presents a number of highlighted functions such as a fast transient response, control of input current surge during startup or short circuits, low THD on input current and harmonic immunity, programmable the maximum input power, and line/load feedforward for the input current limitation.

It has a built-in peak primary current mode control algorithm that eliminates the need for additional active components and reduces the internal losses without sacrificing a fast line transient response from the converter. This converter is suitable for high power applications up to 500W.

The NCP1399ADPGEVB also features low EMI switch-mode operation, allowing the converter to be able to meet various local conducted emission regulatory standards such as EN55022, high power factor (>0.9 PF) and line feed-forward control to offer benefit for the process of meeting IEC61000-3-2.
