The NCP1910GEVB is an Evaluation Board designed to provide a platform for the NCP1910G Series of integrated power stage devices. It is classified as an Evaluation Board for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS – a power supply that uses a DC input (battery, solar panel, etc.) to produce an AC or DC output for powering devices such as computers, home appliances & industrial machinery. The NCP1910GEVB board is designed to generate an AC/DC power output of up to 550 watts, with adjustable frequencies from 20 kHz to 2 MHz – allowing it to be used in a wide range of applications.
The board features a buck, boost & flyback topologies available with most of the NCP1910G devices. It supports a wide voltage range of 4V to 54V, covering many typical applications such as 24V motor drives & non-isolated DC/DC converters. The board also includes both over-temperature protection & over-currentfold-back protection, a dedicated driver test corner & circuitry for monitoring of output voltage & current. In addition to these features, the NCP1910GEVB board also has a standby power supply mode that allows low-power applications to be tested with minimum power consumption.
The board uses a number of dedicated components, including MOSFETs, diodes, inductors, and capacitors, to implement the desired topology. The board also incorporates a bootstrap driver circuit with a dedicated on-chip driver circuit and cold-start capability. In addition, it also features low RDS(on) MOSFETs for improved efficiency and can be used with either DC or AC sources.
The NCP1910G series of devices are step-down and non-isolated DC/DC converters that provide up to 4.8A continuous load current over a wide input voltage of 4.5V to 32V. They also provide a high switching frequency of up to 500 kHz, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. In addition, they feature low RDS(on), allowing for more efficient switching and improved efficiency. The NCP1910G series is designed to be integrated into a power stage of an application, eliminating the need for a separate power supply.
