PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear + Switching are a type of integrated circuit (IC) primarily used for regulating power in embedded systems. The NCPS6922CDMTTXG is a high performance linear voltage regulator that combines a wide variety of switching, linear and protection technologies. The NCPS6922CDMTTXG is designed to provide low output noise and fast transient response while consuming low quiescent current.

The VRIC senses the output voltage at the output and adjusts the reference voltage until they match. If the output voltage drops below the reference voltage, the VRIC increases the reference voltage until it matches the output voltage.
The power MOSFET switch is controlled by the linear regulative loop of the NCPS6922CDMTTXG in order to provide a fast response time for load transients and also to maintain a low output noise level. The MOSFET switch is a fast-switching P-channel enhancement-mode type, which is capable of carrying up to 30A at a switching frequency of up to 500kHz.
