The NCV33039DR2 is a member of the NCV33xxx family of motor controllers and drivers which are made by ON Semiconductor. This compact, low voltage motor driver combines multiple integrated features including a dedicated on-chip bootstrap charge pump and PWM dimming control to provide a cost-efficient, intelligent motor control solution for a range of applications including DC brush motors, microstepping for two phase unipolar and bipolar stepper motors, and solenoid control. The NCV33039DR2 is specifically designed for cost-sensitive, space-constrained applications, including low power DC brush motors, solenoid valves, and smaller stepper motors.The NCV33039DR2 is capable of controlling a wide range of motors with its 8-bit current control PWM inputs and its integrated on-chip duty cycle control with its PWM dimming control. It offers a wide range of output channels and modes to be regulated independently. Outputs range up to a current of 1.3 A, but can be adjusted via internal control settings.The NCV33039DR2 has an integrated bootstrap charge pump which allows drivers to operate on supplies greater than 10V. This allows the driver to be used in applications that require a minimum voltage supply level higher than the logic level (such as when driving stepper motors). The charge pump also allows the driver to be easily configured to drive brush motors of various current levels without changing external components. Furthermore, the charge pump can be used to provide sufficient gate drive for higher voltage outputs such as in solenoid and valve applications.The NCV33039DR2 also provides a variety of fault protections to ensure the safety of the system. These include sensors for over-temperature protection, under-voltage lockouts and over-current limitations. It also includes an error signal output to indicate a fault and an internal comparator to provide an additional layer of safety in the event of a power supply failure.The NCV33039DR2 can support high drive voltage with an external resistor divider to allow for low cost product implementations. The controller\'s 8-bit PWM control inputs and variable duty cycle control, provides a wide range of output current levels to support many applications. The integrated charge pump and on-chip protection features make the NCV33039DR2 a great fit for cost- and space-sensitive motor control applications.
