NCV51411MNR2G is a high-performance synchronous buck converter, offering multi-mode operation, high ripple current capability and true diode emulation mode at light load. It also provides a minimum support of 1.8V and is designed to deliver very low up-time and minimum switching droop. The NCV51411MNR2G is ideal for applications such as server and storage, allowing small form factor, low power solutions and high efficiency in the entire range of load currents. It features a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 14V and an output voltage of 0.8V to 4.2V with up to 10A maximum. The current limit, voltage limit and power-on enable are all programmable.
The NCV51411MNR2G has several features that enable it to be used as a low-power voltage regulator with wide input voltage range. The Error Amplifier compares a reference voltage, generated by an external divider, with the input voltage, while the Phase Comparator compares the signal from the error amplifier with the Pulse Generator.
The Pulse Generator generates an output signal whose pulse width is adjustable by an analog signal representative of the output voltage demand, and the Excitation Direction Selector directs the Pulse Generator output to the appropriate power switch. This mode of operation provides for very fast current regulation and is well-suited for applications that require a wide input voltage range and fast dynamic response. The NCV51411MNR2G also includes a user-programmable current limit that can be set from 1.5A to 10A with 16 discrete steps.
