The NCV7381GEVK is a 32-bit low-cost, low-power buck converter evaluation and demonstration board which is developed by ON Semiconductor. It features a high-efficiency step-down DC/DC buck converter optimized for battery-powered, LCD backlight and white LED applications. Cost-sensitive implementations are possible due to the low ownership cost of the entire NCV7381GEVK kit.
The NCV7381GEVK is implemented around a proven, highly-integrated regulator IC predominantly consisting of an HV Sense FET, system power ramps, and associated logic for control the device. The device operates from 4Vin to 16Vin input voltage range, and its output current is adjustable from 0.5A to 4A. With an operating efficiency up to 95%, the NCV7381GEVK is optimized for applications with up to 65V input voltages and up to 6A output current. In addition, the kit integrates a wide range of features that enable users to adjust their output voltage, select its operating frequency and switch its operating mode.
In terms of application field and working principle, the NCV7381GEVK is designed primarily for buck converter solutions in consumer, industrial, automotive and power tool applications. It works in 8-bit energy-efficient Constant On-Time (COT) control mode and is capable of achieving fast transient responses and high efficiency in light or heavy loading conditions. The NCV7381GEVK comes with linear input voltage control mechanism allowing current-mode control and automatic voltage-high-low sensing.
