It is a Type 2 coordination that provides short-circuit and overload protection to the motor field, with full-load currents up to 200A. Application Field for NH0G63 Fuses

NH0G63 fuses are suitable for protecting motors up to 20 Ho, with the highest full-load current of 200A. Therefore, they are often used in air conditioners, air compressors, furnace motors, etc.

Connection of combined autotransformers and phase converters: The combined autotransformers or phase converter often operates at relatively high speeds and produces considerable fusing needs. In such cases, NH0G63 fuses can be used instead of other medium voltage fuses.

Air conditioning systems: Circuit breakers provide excellent protection but cannot accommodate the heavy motor loads found in air conditioners. Thus, many systems are designed with fused cutouts that employ NH0G63 fuses.

Working Principle

NH0G63 operates with either a fast-acting or time-delay working principle. If the circuit is overloaded or short-circuited, the fuse element will be completely burned, and the circuit will be disconnected at the overload current value. There are many factors which determine which type of fuse element to use: current rating, time-lag, voltage drop, in-rush levels, and temperature.

The fast-acting fuse element will respond faster to a short-circuit and protect the circuit faster, while the time-lag fuse element will ignore very short-term overcurrent. The current indicating fuses are also used in some medium voltage applications and some of these fuses are time-delay type. In these, after the opening of the main fuse, an external indicator shows the temperature rise of the fuse element.
