NJU3716L is an advanced, high-speed, low-power UART that allows serializer-deserilizer (SerDes) data transfer up to 12.5 Gb/s. It is ideal for high-speed, high-resolution data communication applications in consumer, industrial, automotive and military markets. The NJU3716L has been designed to operate in power-limited systems and support up to eight data lanes. It is able to achieve very low-power operation over one to eight lanes by selectively enabling respective power-saving functions and/or providing dynamic clock gating. TheNJU3716L provides a variety of features allowing the device to be used in a wide range of applications.

NJU3716L Application Field

The NJU3716L is suitable for various high-speed data communication applications, such as video streaming, gaming systems, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, DVI/HDMI, DisplayPort and mobile memory devices. The device supports up to 8 lanes of data transfer and offers configuration options such as lanes 0 to 7 data format selectors, or lane 0 to 7 data port selectors to support different interface standards.

The NJU3716L supports a data rate of up to 12.5 Gb/s enabling high resolution and low latency data transfer which is ideal for video streaming applications. The device also has the capability to support both legacy and future high-speed standards, such as Serial ATA– Advanced Performance, SATA Express, PCI Express 3.0, mini-DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 2.0.

In addition to high-speed data transfer applications, the NJU3716L is also suitable for various power-limited systems, such as smartphones, tablets, laptop computers and in-vehicle computers. The device is designed to offer up to eight lanes of power-saving functionality, which allows for lower power operation for these devices.

NJU3716L Working Principle

The NJU3716L is designed to provide an efficient, low-power, high-speed UART solution for serialization-deserialization (SerDes) data transfer applications. The device works by converting parallel data streams into a single serialized data stream, which is then transmitted over long wires, cables or optical fibers. The device can then convert the serialized data stream back to the original parallel format.
