NL589WL3G is a panel indicator or pilot light that is commonly used in the industrial process control devices for the purpose of monitoring. This panel indicator is designed for control panel mounting with its light cover constructed of plastic in either round or square shapes, depending on the model. The working principle of NL589WL3G panel indicator is based on the illuminated LED element. This LED element is installed typically on a metal plate inside the housing which is kept in contact with the metal base. As soon as the power source in connected to the device, the LED will start to light up due to the current flow. When mounted in a control panel, this panel indicator is used mainly in two main application areas. The first application area is to monitor the current state of the process control loop in which the device is installed. For this reason, the LED element can be used for displaying a visual indication of a certain process performance or any other conditions like the flow rate, temperature and pressure. The second application area is for the purpose of an alarm for alerting the operators about a fault in the process control system. In this case, the LED element can be used as a visual source of information in regard to the machine status or malfunction. NL589WL3G is designed with several environmental protection and operating temperature specifications. It is equipped with an IP20/65 degree enclosure protection rating so it is capable of operation in dusty and environmentally exposed environmental conditions. Furthermore, the device is also designed with a 85-265V AC power supply and maximum temperature endurance up to 85 degrees Celsius. In addition, this device is also designed to have a long lifespan with its LED elements which typically able to sustain up to 40000 hours of operation. Furthermore, the device is designed with a short circuit protection mechanism to protect the LED element against excessive current and overvoltage conditions.
