DC-DC converters are electronic systems that are designed for transforming direct currents from one peak voltage level to a desired level. The NMA1205SC is a DC-DC converter which can be used to step down voltage from up to 24V to a lower output voltage for power supply applications. The NMA1205SC is able to step down from 24V to a wide range of output voltages, ranging from 0.5V to 24V, and provides up to 40A output current. Additionally, it offers an input voltage range of 4.5V to 24V and a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.

The NMA1205SC provides a high frequency synchronous rectification step-down approach with output voltage accuracy of ±10%, making it possible to use the device in multiple low-power and high-switching applications, eliminating the disadvantages of an analog-based approach. As the power consumed by the high-side switch is always lower than the power consumed by the low-side switch, the device offers high efficiency levels and power savings with ripple and noise kept very low during step-down conversions.

The NMA1205SC integrates a thermal protection system with Low-Dropout (LDO) linear regulators connected directly to the primary input voltages, which are connected to the secondary side of the power switches.
