NMC27C64QE200 Application Field and Working Principle

NMC27C64QE200 is a high-speed, low-power, 64K-bit static CMOS RAM chip designed for consumer and computer applications. It belongs to the memory chip series. It combines 256 words by 8 bits in a single CMOS chip. The memory content data will not be lost when the power supply is interrupted. It adopts the six-pin CERDIP package or plastic package.

The chip can operate from single 5V supply and clock frequency up to 20MHz. The chip has a Data OutStrobe function, which can sample the data from the data I/O port to the memory array.

When the chip is used, first, the target address must be generated. This can be done by using the CAS (Column Address Strobe) and RAS (Row Address Strobe) signals. When an address is applied to the chip, the CAS and RAS signals must be strobed, and then the data can be read or written. Also, when the chip is used, the WE (Write Enable) or OE (Output Enable) signal must also be strobed, and then the data can be read/written.
