The NMH2415SC device uses a buck switching circuitry principle to convert a high input voltage into a regulated low output voltage. The PWM comparator inside the device senses the output voltage and controls the Internal MOSFET. When the output voltage is lower than the programmed value, the MOSFET is switched on, allowing the current to flow from the input source to the output load while the voltage regulator charges the output inductor. As the voltage regulator charges the output inductor, the output voltage rises. Meanwhile, the current flowing from the output inductor to the output load is also increasing. The voltage regulator then senses this voltage rise and turns off the MOSFET to stop the charging process. As a result, the output voltage will stabilize at the programmed value.
