Working principle of NMJ1212SC

The NMJ1212SC employs a fixed frequency quasi-resonant pulse-width-modulation (QR-PWM) control scheme. It uses a high-frequency (500kHz) buck converter with a synchronous rectifier to minimize the output voltage ripple and improve efficiency. The circuit has low EMI performance due to the provided integrated output filter and the above mentioned high-frequency operation.

The IC integrates a precision error amplifier with an over voltage protection circuit (OVP) and an adjustable soft-start circuit. The over temperature protection (OTP) is provided with the help of a thermal shutdown circuit, which will shut down the system, if the chip temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold. It also features an auto-recovery feature to re-enable operations when the chip cools down to a safe temperature.
