Working Principle
The NP0640SBMCT3G Thyristor is composed of a monolithic structure made up of PN-junctions for avalanche conduction. This conduction is triggered by the current passing through the device exceeding its pre-determined threshold and the voltage across the model exceeding its so-called "breakdown" voltage. During avalanche operation, the integrated thyristor of the NP0640SBMCT3G serves as a switch connected to a positive supply voltage.
