Working Principle
The NSE10DH1211 encoder has a built-in holey wheel pattern for generating incremental signals. It utilizes light-emitting diode (LED) and photodiode to detect the holey wheel pattern and produce two output signals (A and B) at 90° to each other. In addition, the encoder also has an end-of-stroke output (Z) which can generate a pulse when the holey wheel pattern is read for the first time.
The output signals of NSE10DH1211 encoder are in the form of quadrature signals, with each signal providing a maximum of 1211 pulses per revolution. Thus, it is possible to divide the full circle of rotation into 1211 segments for precise angular position measurement. These two output signals (A and B) are shifted by 90° to each other, such that, while signal A is high, signal B will be low and vice versa.
The NSE10DH1211 encoder also has two additional outputs (U and V) which are synchronous with the main signals (A and B). These additional signals allow redundant signals to be generated for extra safety and accuracy. The encoder is capable of providing up to 6 signals, allowing for accurate rotational and linear measurements.
